Title: Cosmic Censorship Hypothesis and Weak Gravity Conjecture Speaker: Prof. Hongbao Zhang (Beijing Normal University) Time: 3:00PM, Apr. 24th, 2018 (Tuesday) Place: Theoretical Physics Division, 319 Abstract: To guarantee the predictive power of classical general relativity, Penrose proposed his cosmic censorship on the inevitable singularity formed by gravitational collapse. On the other hand, weak gravity conjecture is supposed to be one of the most important criteria for a complete theory of quantum gravity. In this talk, the speaker will talk about both of them and their very relation. In particular, he will report the recent work along this lane.
